Our Story

To meet the need for a more personalised and tailored recruitment service for the local Canberra market, Carolyn Andreae established HR Connexions in October 2008. Her long career in the industry led to Carolyn to the conviction that a hands-on, follow-through approach is the best way to meet the needs of clients looking for quality candidates and the needs of quality candidates looking for the right match for their talents.

Having worked at a senior level in national recruitment companies, Carolyn learned that successful connections are made possible by understanding both client and candidate needs, meticulously analysing the market, maintaining open, two-way communication and tapping into long-term, productive networks.

Operating on these important principles, it didn’t take long for HR Connexions to start filling positions in the public sector (federal, territory and local), the private sector (from junior to the most senior levels) and across a wide range of trades and industries.

The ACT’s general candidate shortage led Carolyn to expand by establishing an international arm, taking the strategic decision to provide experience senior executive support to clients and candidates wanting to make a major move from overseas to Canberra.

Today HR Connexions provides international recruitment services to public and private sector organisations through the Australian Government’s 457 Visa system. Extra value is added through personalised relocation services, ensuring that those who move here from abroad fit comfortably into Canberra, quickly and easily.

Carolyn first entered the recruitment world in 1997 and worked in human resources and as a senior manager with national recruitment companies for well over a decade before opening her own business, HR Connexions.

Driven by her passion to reach the best results through a trustworthy partnership approach, Carolyn founded HR Connexions in Canberra in 2008 and has helped hundreds of clients reach their organisational goals by matching them with talented candidates wanting to achieve their individual career goals. ‘Effective results in recruitment is so much more than just reviewing resumes and forwarding them onto clients,’ says Carolyn. ‘It’s about a commitment to achieving the best possible outcome.’

Carolyn’s wealth of knowledge has been built on her extensive experience with recruitment models, payroll management, performance management systems and general human resource processes. This positions her well to provide clients and candidates with the reliable guidance, sound advice and open communication needed to develop innovative solutions.
